The Columbia, Illinois community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Kyle Matthew Schreckenberg, who passed away on May 21, 2026, at the age of 25 while surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 24, 2000, in St. Louis, Missouri, Kyle entered the world alongside his twin brother, Christopher, beginning a lifelong bond that family members say was unbreakable.
Kyle shared a close relationship not only with Christopher but also with his brother Kevin. Those who knew the Schreckenberg brothers often spoke about the deep connection they shared and the unwavering support they always gave one another. Family was at the center of Kyle’s life, and his love for those closest to him was evident in everything he did.
Remembered for his bright smile and kind spirit, Kyle had a personality that naturally drew people toward him. Friends describe him as someone who could light up any room with his presence and make others feel welcomed and appreciated. He loved traveling, taking road trips, discovering new restaurants, staying active at the gym, and spending quality time with family and friends. Many clients returned specifically to work with Kyle because of his honesty, transparency, and integrity—qualities that defined both his professional and personal life.
Kyle was preceded in death by his uncle, Daniel Schreckenberg. He is survived by his parents, Tad and Ruth Schreckenberg, his brothers Kevin and Chris, grandparents, extended family, and countless friends who will forever cherish his memory and carry his spirit in their hearts.
